I really like rain…. Just not nonstop rain/dreary weather for weeks at a time!! I am ready to see the sun already!!! But the cooler weather is nice, so I will try not to complain too much! We had another nice weekend despite the weather. Katie’s babysitter was closed on Thursday and Friday so Katie went to the daycare here at my work on Thursday. She loves it here. She calls it her “school”. When we arrived, she said “Momma, I love my school”. It is so nice to have something like this as backup childcare (even if it does cost and arm and a leg!) She had a great day on Thursday. Then Grammie came over and kept Katie on Friday. From what I hear, they had a great day together. Friday was a great day for both kids, as Kason aced his very first spelling test! He had a test over 20 words including “catch”, “grass”, “tip”, “man”, etc. We had been practicing his words all week. It was great to see that practice pay off! He was very proud of himself and of course, so were we! Friday was also my friend Brandi’s birthday. I went after work and met her and my friend Laurie for dinner and drinks. It was so good to hang out with great friends. I love my girlfriends and don’t know what I would do without them!!!

Saturday we laid pretty low as it was another rainy day. Gary Don’s dad stopped by for a visit which was a wonderful surprise. The kids had not seen Granddad in awhile, but they warmed up to him very quickly. Kason wore him out playing with a beach ball and Katie dragged him to her room to look at her “stuff”. It was a nice visit.

Then my mom came over that evening so Gary Don and I could have a Date Night. Whoo Hoo!! :) She came bearing gifts for the kids. It felt like Christmas in October! Katie got a Dora blanket, a Hello Kitty Backpack and some bling bling flip flop/slippers.

Kason got a Hot Wheels Toy and a globe. They were so excited!! And so were GD and I as we walked out the door!! :) We went to the movies and then met Crystal and Chad for dinner. It was a wonderful night. On Sunday we went to Sunday School and church then home for a quiet, lazy day. We got Kason’s Halloween costume in the mail this weekend (I ordered it online). He loves it!!! It is going to be hard to keep it off of him until Halloween. Here is a sneak peak:

Katie’s new phrase when she is eating something she likes is “Yum Yum, Delicioso!” Dora teaches her so much. :)
Tomorrow I am hoping to meet my Great Aunt Cary and 2nd Cousin, Sabrina at the airport for a quick visit. They have a layover at DFW. They live in France, so we rarely get an opportunity to visit. Hopefully, I will have pictures to post later this week.
Hope everyone has a great week!
