Valentine's Day Surprise!

On Friday, February 12th, I came home from work after a busy day and was exhausted! I pulled in the garage and saw that GD's car wasn't there. He had stayed home with the kids that afternoon because of the snow, so I had expected them to be home. Confused, I got out of the car and went to the door and saw this note:
I opened the door and on the kitchen floor was another note:

Then a trail of rose petals:

I could not believe it! What a complete surprise!!! I could not believe my husband had done this!! I followed the rose petals to our bathroom and found a vase of roses, bubble bath, a card, and candles.
He had even decorated the tub:Of course I didn't wait until after my bath to read the next clue:
I took a wonderful bubble bath and got ready. GD came and picked me up and we went to our favorite restaurant, Bob's Steakhouse. He had made reservations 2 weeks prior. He really did think of everything! I have the most thoughtful, romantic, handsome husband ever!! Thank you so much baby for that wonderful night, and many wonderful days and nights to come. I love you with all my heart!

Snow, Snow and more Snow!!

On Wednesday night GD and I heard on the news that they were expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow in the DFW area on Thursday afternoon. It is always a little exciting to hear the weather people talking about snow, but we always take the forecasts with a grain of salt. It seems about half the time they call for snow it ends up to be just cold and rainy. So when we woke up early Thursday morning to get ready for work, I jokingly told GD to look outside and see if there was snow.....maybe we wouldn't have to go to work! A few minutes later he came back in the bathroom and said, "Honey, you need to come look at this!" He had turned on the news and there on the TV was Denton with big snow flakes coming down! We looked outside and saw that it was snowing! And as the minutes passed, the flakes got bigger and bigger! By the time I left for work the snow was coming down big time! The roads were covered! We were expecting Celina ISD to close schools, but we didn't hear anything. So GD got the kids ready and took Kason to school and Katie to Ms. Tracy's. All day while we were at work, the snow continued to fall! It didn't stop all day long!! I had never seen the snow come down that hard for that long in Texas! Kason's school finally called around noon saying they were closing. So GD left work to pick him up. They had a fun boy's afternoon building a snowman in the backyard.

The snow was absolutely beautiful! It snowed from about 6:30am to after midnight! The next day there was about a foot of snow on the ground! It had been a long time since we saw that much snow! So of course school was cancelled all day on Friday. I stayed home from work that morning and the kids of course wanted to go play in the snow. I dressed them up in thier ski bibs and long johns. They looked so cute!!
(I think it took me about half an hour to get us all bundled up to go outside!!!) We had fun playing in the snow. Well, I should say Kason and I had fun. Katie was not too sure about it. She did try to be a sport and made a snow angel after Kason did the same.

But after that she was pretty much done with the snow. She was tired of stomping around in the deep snow, so she got on the porch and sat in her Barbie chair with her Barbie umbrella and waited for Summer. :)
Look at all the snow!!!
