Kason's Birthday Party

I guess I will start this blog by admitting that I am not a huge fan of kid's birthday parties. Now, please don't take that to mean that I don't want to be invited to anymore birthday parties! I am referring to my own kids' parties. They are normally pure chaos with kids running everywhere and guests that we don't get to see very often but don't really have a chance to talk to at that time due to the chaos around us. Mix all the kids and guests in with cake, drinks, presents, party favors and activities and you have one worn out Mommy!!! :) Having said all that, I am very happy to report that Kason's birthday party on Saturday, March 20th was the least stress I have ever experienced at my kids parties! Yay!

We had his party at Fieldhouse USA in Frisco. I have to give credit to my mom for giving me the idea to have a party here. Kason played in a summer basketball leage at Fieldhouse USA last summer, but I had no idea that they hosted birthday parties. I mentioned to my mom that we were looking for a place to have Kason's party and she said something to the effect of "its too bad there's not a place where he and his friends could play basketball". Something clicked when she said that and I went to Fieldhouse USA's website and saw information about birthday parties! Whoo Hooo!! So we booked a party and all I had to do was bring a cake. Now that is my kind of party! We decided to just do a "boys party", so 10 of Kason's friends came and had fun playing basketball and flag football. Fieldhouse USA provided a young man to play with the kids on the court so we didn't have to do anything! They organized the games and kept the kids engaged. I just sat and watched. :)

Here is a pic of the boys at the party table. One of the party favors was silly/gross teeth, so that is what Kason is wearing. (Just in case you are thinking to yourself that we really need to enforce Kason's toothbrushing! :)
Kason picked out this cake. And to answer your question, yes, of course I made it! (Ha Ha, ya right! :)
The crew:
It was a great party! The boys had so much fun. Thanks for the idea for the party, Mom!
