Kason's 8th Birthday
It is hard to believe that I have an 8 year old son! In some ways, it feels like just yesterday that he was toddling around the house. In other ways, that seems like a long time ago! :) But time does indeed fly and Kason celebrated his 8th birthday last week. We celebrated all weekend long! On Friday I took off work so that I could take him to school and bring donuts for his class. He was so excited about bringing those donuts! Like I do every year on his birthday, I went to eat lunch with him at school. He asked me if I would bring him Sonic and gave me his order that morning, so of course I did. It was a fun lunch! They had Kason get up on the stage and the whole cafeteria sang Happy Birthday to him. You know he loved that! :) One of his good friends, Kaizer, who is in his class has a birthday the day after Kason. Kaizer's birthday party was the night of Kason's birthday. So not long after school was out, we took Kason to Kaizer's house for his party. They were out late for the party and Kason said he had fun. We had told Kason we would take him out to eat for his birthday and that he could choose the restaraunt. He chose Magic Time Machine in Addison which is a fun restaurant where the staff dresses up like characters. So on Saturday night, we met our friends Crystal and Chad and their kids Jaycee and Koby at Magic Time Machine. When the waiter came to our table he asked us who we thought he was. The kids guessed Jack Sparrow, but he said "Do I really look like Jack Sparrow?" They said no. We knew he was a pirate but no idea which one. He finally told us he was Sinbad the pirate. We still don't really know who that is, but he was a very cool pirate and good waiter. Much better than last year's Indiana Jones and Gilligan - Kason had no idea who they were. Here is a pic of Sinbad:
We told Sinbad it was Kason's birthday so he brought him a balloon to wear on his head. Kason was not a big fan of the balloon on his head but kept it on for a little while just to be a good sport.
We had visits from some of the other waiters and waitresses. Katie's favorite was Cinderella.
After our meal, Sinbad, Where's Waldo and Princess Leia stopped by to sing Happy Birthday to Kason. He thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention.
There was a professional photographer who came around and snapped all of our picture. It was a fun night!
