On Sunday, May 30th my marvelous Mom and myself had a wonderfully special mother/daughter day. Back in March, I asked Mom if she wanted to go see the Broadway musical Wicked with me. She said she would so I bought tickets as soon as they went on sale. I had been wanting to see Wicked for a long time. I had heard a lot about it and how good it was. Plus, it was Claire's favorite musical and 2 of the songs from it were played at her memorial service. Those 2 songs were really good so it made me want to see the story behind them. My sweet husband agreed to keep the kids for the better part of the day so that Mom and I could spend the day together. The tickets we had were for a matinee so we left early so that we could eat lunch before the show. We stopped at one of my favorite places - Pei Wei. I had my usual Chopped Chicken Salad and Mom had lettuce wraps. She also ordered edemame for us to share. I had never had edemame before, but I did like them. (They were slippery little suckers! We had them flying all over the table! :) It was a yummy lunch!

After we ate, we headed to the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas. We got there quickly with very little trouble, PTL! We were early which was nice because we had our choice of parking and didn't have to rush. We walked around the Music Hall a little bit. Look at this beautiful chandelier!

When they opened the doors to the theatre and we found our seats, we were so pleased. We had great seats!

Then the musical began. Wow! It was amazing! The 2 main characters had absolutely beautiful voices! The music, costumes, sets and songs were amazing. It was a great show that I would recommend to anyone! Mom bought the CD, the music was so good. I have been playing it in my car and Katie Blair loves the "Popular" song. :)
It was such a special day spent with my wonderful Momma. I love you so much Mom and am so very blessed to have you as a mom and a friend.
